Established British Brand

Keeler was established in 1917, when American-born Charles D Keeler, 41, opened his first practice in London, supplying high-quality dispensing services and spectacles to the patients of ophthalmologists.

From this point Keeler quickly became an established British brand which was known country wide for its innovative and pioneering work in optometry and the development and launch of ophthalmoscopes.

Keeler later moved from London to Windsor, establishing a scientific laboratory in the town where the company headquarters is still based to this day.

In 1969 Charles Keeler was awarded the OBE for services to the partially sighted and in 1979 Keeler won a British Design Award for its Pocket Diagnostic Set hand instruments for doctors and students.

Today, following the establishment of further premises in the UK and US, the company remains a leader in the manufacture of ophthalmic products and a popular face in the UK Ophthalmic Optometric Market. Year on year it continues to launch some of the most up to date and innovative direct and indirect ophthalmoscopes, slit lamps, loupes and tonometers there are.
